Sunday October 12th was a special day at Church of the Redeemer. We were celebrating our 8th anniversary as a parish. In 2006, our church was formed as an Anglican church in the Province of Kenya. We were so blessed to have The Rev. Qampicha Daniel Wario with us from Kenya to remind us where we were planted and to inspire us to commit to further develop our relationship with the Anglican Church in Kenya. The ministry of Qampicha matches the call of God upon our church to stand firm on the word of God and to engage in Holy Spirit empowered ministry in the church, community and the world. At both of our services, Qampicha spoke about his ministry in Kenya and Tumaini School that he started in 2011 with one classroom. The school now has 350 students from all backgrounds. The school is thoroughly Christian. He shared how important his American partners are to his ministry and the school. He did a great job speaking slowly for our southern congregation. We took up an offering for Qampicha and his ministry, as we do on the second Sunday of every month.
